The current during full voltage starting of an AC motor is approximately 6.5-7.5 times the rated current. The reactor starting cabinet can be used for step-down starting of AC motors with a rated voltage of 10kV and below, and a motor power of 4000KW and below. Its characteristic is that the starting current is generally 4-5 times the rated current, suitable for situations with relatively large network system capacity and lax starting current limits.

Selecting a reactor as a voltage reduction and current limiting device, when the motor starts, it is connected in series to the primary circuit. Due to the impedance of the reactance, a partial voltage drop is generated, causing a decrease in the terminal voltage of the motor, resulting in a decrease in the starting current compared to the full voltage (approximately 4-5 times the rated current). After starting, use a bypass switch to short circuit both ends of the reactance and switch the motor to full voltage operation.
In order to solve the dispersion of starting parameters and ensure the success rate of starting, the reactor generally adopts a tapping method to provide three different sets of parameters for on-site adjustment. The starting time is usually tens of seconds to two minutes.
In general, it is equipped with a dry type reactor with a temperature resistance level of F (155 ℃).
Cabinet type adopts XGN (modified) or KYN28 (modified)
